Meet Justin McKain-Precision Agronomist
New Employee Spotlight: Justin McKain
A little about Justin:
I grew up on my family’s farm in Southwestern Indiana, where we raise watermelon, cantaloupe, corn, soybeans, and wheat. I’m a graduate of Ivy Tech Community College and have worked in the agricultural industry for over 15 years. My experience includes seed production, seed sales, precision farming technology, and ag retail.
I married my wife, Alli, in 2014 and have been blessed with two rambunctious boys. I enjoy spending time outdoors—whether that’s working in my garden, sitting at the soccer or baseball fields, or taking my kids fishing.
Fun Fact: I spent two years traveling the United States advocating for agriculture on the American Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers Committee. That adventure took me from Portland, Oregon, all the way to Puerto Rico, and gave me the opportunity to meet young farmers from Canada, Japan, and Australia.
How did you hear about Advanced Agrilytics, and why did you want to be part of our team?
I first encountered the company in 2016 when I was assisting a farmer with his seeding prescriptions from Advanced Agrilytics. I still remember being amazed by the detail and care put into those prescriptions. Since that first interaction, I’ve followed the company and watched it grow. When I decided to cross over from agricultural technology to agronomy, I knew Advanced Agrilytics would be a great fit.
What excites you most about working at Advanced Agrilytics?
Advanced Agrilytics has some of the best agronomists in the industry and a unique methodology for precision agronomy. I’m most excited to work alongside and learn from this talented group while bringing our sub-acre management approach to producers in my region.
What’s your favorite part of working with growers?
I really enjoy helping growers overcome challenges on their operations. Every farm is unique, and with that comes a variety of challenges that make the day-to-day work interesting.
