William Kess Berg shares his more than 20 years of agronomic and ag tech experience with the team at Advanced Agrilytics as the chief technology officer. He specializes in bridging the gap between crop growth and development; soil’s chemical and physical properties; and a grower’s general agronomic practices. Mr. Berg uses Geographic Information Systems as a tool to understand environmental attributes that impact crop performance and then adds weighted rankings to those attributes based on their influence at the sub-acre level. He uses his knowledge of soil mineralogy (specific clay types, chemical, and physical composition), crop physiology (specific nitrogen and carbon pools), and agriculture production to continually evaluate and develop even better understandings of crop management systems. Mr. Berg holds a bachelor’s degree from Ohio State University and both a master’s and a PhD from Purdue University.
